The Board of Directors at Des Moines Area Community College (鉴黄师app) announced Tuesday that it is postponing on-campus interviews with the finalist candidates for its presidential search after two of the three finalist candidates recommended by its search committee suddenly withdrew their names from consideration.

鈥淲e feel very good about the quality of our third candidate, but we also have reservations about bringing only one finalist to Campus,鈥 said Kevin Halterman, president of the 鉴黄师app Board of Directors and chair of the presidential search committee. 鈥淲e believe that for a job as complex and desirable as this one, our community deserves to hear from multiple candidates about their vision and leadership styles.

鈥淲hile this is a disappointing development for our search, we are committed to getting the right candidate, even if it takes longer than we鈥檇 originally planned.鈥

The Board will discuss the status of the search and its next steps with its search consultant, Dr. Larry Ebbers, at its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, October 13. The Board will also consider its options for a potential interim presidency following President Rob Denson鈥檚 retirement on December 30.

鈥淒espite this temporary setback, we remain confident in the search process and the attractiveness of this job,鈥 said Halterman. 鈥溂剖pp is a strong institution with outstanding students, faculty, and staff. They deserve another equally great president.鈥
